Hi, I’m Nilan. I started NilansGuide.com because I was tired of seeing my friends and family struggle with technology that was supposed to make their lives easier — not harder.
Who I Am
I’ve been the “tech person” in my circle for over 6 years. Every week, someone would ask me:

I realized most tech guides online were either too technical, too vague, or written by people who never actually faced these problems. So I started writing step-by-step guides based on real solutions I tested myself.
What I Do Differently
Every article on this site follows three rules:
- I test everything first. I don’t write about features I haven’t used. If I’m explaining how to set up a digital planner, I’ve actually done it on my own device.
- I write for real people. No jargon. No assumptions that you already know tech terms. If I use a technical word, I explain it.
- I focus on everyday problems. Not enterprise software or coding. Just the tech issues that come up in daily life — for parents, students, professionals, and seniors.
My Devices & Testing Setup
I test tips across multiple devices to ensure they work for everyone:
- Smartphones: Samsung Galaxy S23, iPhone 15, and a budget Android device
- Tablet: iPad Air (for app tutorials and productivity guides)
- Laptop: Windows 11 laptop and MacBook Air
- Smart Home: Google Nest and basic smart home devices
This means when I write “this works on Android,” I’ve actually tried it on Android. When I say “this saves battery,” I’ve measured the difference myself.
